Sophia decides to enter her and Dorothy in the Sandy Pines Mother-Daughter Pageant so she can beat a rival, Dorothy agrees after Sophia sweet talks her. A man called David Patton comes to the door looking for George Devereaux of course Blanche reveals the truth which is that he's dead, David clearly shocked leaves the house with a clear lie, Blanche reveals she heard he was looking for George she thinks David is after her.
The next day he returns and Blanche confronts him, he confesses that George was his Father and Blanche is shocked and tries to deny what he said but the proof is everywhere. Blanche angry asks him to leave as David tries to ask questions about his father, Blanche is hurt by this as she remained faithful to George turning down every temptation even a member of 60 Minutes all the girls conclude it was Morley Safer.
While Blanche copes with the truth Dorothy and Sophia practice for the talent part of the Pageant dressing first as Sonny and Cher. However on the day of the Pageant Blanche meets with David and shows him pictures of George realizing that she can't be angry at David as he's just a victim like her.
That night Dorothy and Sophia return from the Pageant as runners up but they don't mind as they enjoyed themselves and Blanche tells them she forgives George and let David know about his Father, as they go to the Kitchen, Blanche tells George off in the photos she showed David revealing she turned down Andy Rooney
