Big Daddy was the 24th episode of Season 1 of The Golden Girls TV series, also the 24th overall series episode. Directed by Terry Hughes and written by Barry Fanaro with co-executive producer Susan Harris, it originally aired on NBC-TV on May 3, 1986.
The girls get a surprise visit from Blanche's father, Big Daddy. He drops a bombshell on his daughter to tell her the entire Hollingsworth plantation has been sold so he can go into a singing career. This ends Blanche over the edge as she worries for her father. Meanwhile, after a tree has fallen from the neighbors yard onto the lanai; Sophie puts a curse on the stubborn neighbor who won't remove it.
