Grandmama Bennet was Blanche Devereaux's maternal grandmother. She passed down her earrings, which were fashioned by her own mother, Rosalind Roquet, from the bullets that killed her father, Walker Roquet, who died during the Civil War and early in Grandmama's youth, to her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hollingsworth, and she passed it down to her daughter, Grandmama's granddaughter, Blanche Devereaux.
