On Golden Girls was the sixth episode of Season 1 of The Golden Girls, also the 6th overall episode of the series. Directed by Jim Drake, it was written by Liz Sage and Susan Harris. It premiered on NBC-TV on October 26, 1985.
Blanche's fourteen-year-old grandson David visits Miami, and is an instant handful, stowing away in his airplane's bathroom and illegally flying to the Bahamas. He later wakes the girls during the night with an out-of-control party with other teenagers. He and his "friends" insult the girls, which results in them being thrown out and Sophia slapping David. David reveals that his parents neglect him due to their troubled marriage, and, in order to teach him responsibility, Blanche and the other girls give him a list of chores. He reconciles with Sophia and the others, but they convince him to join his parents in Hawaii on their second honeymoon when he asks to move in full-time.
Meanwhile, Dorothy is studying for her French final, insistent upon getting an A. Sophia, annoyed by Dorothy's obsession, ensures her that she will pass, which, despite David's distractions, she does, though her grade is not mentioned.
