Phyllis Hammerow is one of the actresses in Patrick Vaughn's play. He chooses her to play his leading lady, Josie. When Blanche exposes Patrick's affairs on stage - including with Dorothy, who played the Sheriff - Phyllis is shocked that she wasn't the only one. After Dorothy orders him to leave the town, Phyllis takes the hand of one of the other actors and bows to the audience, followed by the rest of the cast.
