Rex Huntington was one of Blanche's numerous boyfriends. Blanche thought that he was a wonderful person, and only had a bit of a bad temper, but Dorothy could see that he had abusive tendencies. When she confronted Blanche about it, Blanche was appalled by the thought, telling Dorothy that Rex had never laid a hand on her. Dorothy responded by saying that not all abuse is physical. After being stood up three times by Rex, and told that it was no use going to the other dates they had made because she was late, and that she had dressed wrong, they might as well just not go out. When Dorothy stands up to Rex, he becomes angry and grabs Dorothy's arm and squeezes it until it hurts. Blanche witnesses it and orders him out of the house. Rex apologizes to Dorothy before leaving.
