Production[]

Cultural references[]
When Blanche is amused by the caterer's emotional response to Dorothy and Sophia making up, he exclaims "Well, excuse me for living, Anita Bryant!" Anita Bryant was a formerly-prominent singer and beauty pageant winner who became infamous for her outspoken opposition towards gay rights in America. In 1977, Bryant founded the "Save Our Children" campaign to repeal a Miami-Dade County ordinance that prohibited discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. Though the campaign ended successfully with a 69% majority vote to repeal the ordinance on June 7, 1977, it permanently damaged Bryant's public image and her contract with the Florida Citrus Commission was terminated three years later. The ordinance was restored in 1988.[2]
Continuity[]
The caterer in this episode is the same caterer for Dorothy's second wedding to Stan in a later episode.
Rose went to St. Olaf University and majored in Pig Latin.
Goofs[]
After Sophia and Max announce they're getting married Dorothy faints. When she wakes up Rose says she's never fainted before. But Rose did faint in “End of the Curse” when she thought Blanche was pregnant.[3]
Fritzi Burr is credited as playing "Ruth", but her character's name was "Esther".
