The Actor was the 14th episode of Season 2 of The Golden Girls, also the 39th overall series episode. Directed by Terry Hughes and written by Barry Fanaro and Mort Nathan, the episode premiered on NBC-TV on January 17, 1987.
Synopsis
Blanche, Dorothy and Rose decide to audition for a their local theatre production (a spoof of) "Picnic" after learning that an attractive and much desired television actor, Patrick Vaughn, will be the lead. Patrick starts three seperate affairs with the girls and the rest of the female cast (and one confused man). This all comes to a head on stage at opening night. Meanwhile Sophia gets a job at a fast food restaurant in an effort to make extra money.
